Kathryn S. Render is a lawyer serving clients in the East/Central Missouri area, with an office in Hermann at 113 East Fourth Street, Second Floor.
Kathryn was born in Chicago, Illinois, and lived for four years in Salt Lake City before her family moved back to her father’s home in Paducah, Kentucky. After graduating from Paducah Tilghman, she left Kentucky for college. She graduated from George Washington University with a major in Secondary Education in 1978, the year her first child was born. She has been married to Wm. Trigg Render since 1976. Together, they have three children and four grandchildren. They have lived in the St. Louis area since 1981. Since June of 2009, they have been happily settled on a small farm outside Berger, Missouri.
She received her J.D. from St. Louis University School of Law in 1989. From 1988-1989, she was an Articles Editor of the Saint Louis University Law Journal. She worked as a research assistant for several of her professors. Upon graduation, she was awarded admittance to the Order of the Woolsack, an honor society of those graduating in the top 10% of their law school class.
Her life as a lawyer began in a general practice as an associate at Newburger & Vossmeyer. From January 1991 through August 1992, she was the law clerk for U.S. Magistrate Judge William S. Bahn. Afterwards, she taught Legal Research and Writing at Washington University School of Law. She began practicing employment law as an associate at Mary Anne Sedey and Associates. Since January 1997, she has been a sole practitioner representing employees in negotiations with their current or former employers, in litigations in state and federal courts, and in private arbitrations.
She speaks often on employment law topics. She is a past President of the Eighth Circuit chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA), a past President of the St. Louis chapter of NELA, and has served on the executive board of both organizations. She is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor teaching a seminar on current issues in employment law at the Saint Louis University School of Law.
